Dealing with brokenness is a huge, and painful burden to bear.
Whether a past relationship is the cause or a series of disappointments, a broken heart can discourage us and ultimately hinder us from being who God called us to be.
Let me ask you a question…
What would you do if you’re heart were healed and those painful memories were erased?
Maybe you’d take more chances.
Maybe, you’d spend more time with family.
Maybe, you’d pick up that project you’ve been scared to touch due to past disappointments.
Now, what if I told you your brokenness could be wiped away?
You see, God knows exactly what you’re going through because he’s seen it before.
And he even took the time to write it down for you so even when he feels far away, you can always find encouragement.
So if you haven’t already, pull out your bible journal because I picked out some of his most encouraging scriptures just for you, a woman dealing with brokenness.
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you. When you pass through the rivers, they will not flow over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned. The fire will not destroy you.
The Lord is near to those who are discouraged; he saves those who have lost all hope.
For thus says the high and exalted One Who lives forever, whose name is Holy, “I dwell on a high and holy place, And also with the contrite and lowly of spirit In order to revive the spirit of the lowly And to revive the heart of the contrite.
“Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart”
“Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth”
“But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed”

Do not fear, for I am with you. Do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will give you strength, and for sure I will help you. Yes, I will hold you up with My right hand that is right and good.
God is our safe place and our strength. He is always our help when we are in trouble. 2 So we will not be afraid, even if the earth is shaken and the mountains fall into the center of the sea, 3 and even if its waters go wild with storm and the mountains shake with its action.
He is the one who heals the brokenhearted and who bandages their wounds.
And Nehemiah continued, “Go and celebrate with a feast of rich foods and sweet drinks, and share gifts of food with people who have nothing prepared. This is a sacred day before our Lord. Don’t be dejected and sad, for the joy of the Lord is your strength!”
In all of these verses, God promises to be our comforter if only we let him.
He wants us to reach out to him when our hearts are heavy, and especially when we feel we have no more left to give.
What would you do for all of your pain, burdens, and brokenness to be wiped away?
Most of us would do ANYTHING, but God isn’t asking us to jump through hoops for peace, he only asks us to do three things.
- Accept him into our hearts and lives as our lord and savior.
- Reach out to him in prayer.
- And read and study his word.
I pray that you found encouragement and solace in this post and that you know that your brokenness does not make you weak or undesirable to God.
